Victoria Lyubitskaya (Piano soloist)

“Victoria Lyubitskaya is a highly gifted pianist of a Romantic makeup; she possesses great emotion, fire, and a striking individuality in her creative outlook. She knows how to find a way to the heart of the listener, how to fascinate.”
People’s Artist of the USSR,
Laureate of State Awards,
Professor of the Hochschule fur Musik und Theater Hannover
Vladimir Krainev

Born in Moscow, Victoria Lyubitskaya studied at the Moscow Conservatoire Music School with Valentina Sedova-Berman and at the Moscow Conservatoire College under the well-known pianist and teacher Victor Bunin. She continued her education at senior level in the Moscow Conservatoire under Professors Samvel Alumyan and Lev Naumov.

Victoria Lyubitskaya is a soloist of the Moscow State Philharmonia, the leading concert organization in Russia.

Victoria’s concert repertoire is wide and diverse, embracing works from the 18th to the 20th century. Rachmaninov occupies a special place for her, and she performs all his solo piano works and all works for piano and orchestra (four concertos and Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini). Victoria has collaborated with such well-known conductors as Saulius Sondeckis, Mark Gorenstein, Veronika Dudarova, Vladimir Verbitsky, Alexander Rudin, and Dmitry Liss; she has performed with leading orchestras such as the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia, the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, the Russian Symphony Orchestra, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, the State Symphony Orchestra, the St. Petersburg Camerata (Chamber Orchestra of the State Hermitage Museum), and the Musica Viva Chamber Orchestra. She has been recorded for various radio, television and CD companies.

Abroad, she has performed in Switzerland, Italy, Serbia and Montenegro, Croatia, Poland, Latvia, Germany, Hungary and Australia. Reviews

“I have been fortunate to hear Lyubitskaya playing a wide range of repertoire and I have been particularly struck by the profundity of her creative intelligence, the very high emotional level of her playing, not to mention her technical brilliance and artistic ambition. Taken together, these qualities certainly place this wonderful pianist in the leading ranks of her generation.”
Music critic, Honoured Art Worker of Russia
Evgenie Barankin

“A vivid creative imagination, great temperament, and inspiration – all these things are very attractive qualities of Victoria Lyubitskaya. She is able to make free use of the whole pianistic arsenal and deploys it as a means for conveying musical ideas, her conception of a musical work. This makes Lyubitskaya’s playing organic and convincing.”
Musical Life, Russia

“I cannot but express my admiration for Victoria Lyubitskaya’s interpretation of Ravel’s left-hand concerto. Her confident virtuosity, her large beautiful sound, and her boldness in interpreting this extremely difficult concerto were astonishing. I wish Victoria great artistic success.”
Composer, People’s Artist of the USSR,
Laureate of State Awards,
Professor Tikhon Khrennikov

“I have listened to the playing by Victoria Lyubitskaya and I have the best impression of her great musicianship and artistic abilities. She deserves a good international career.”
