Musical Theater. K.S. Stanislavsky and Vl. I. Nemirovich-Danchenko presents the first premiere of 2021 - a new program of one-act ballets, consisting of the renewal of George Balanchine's Baroque Concerto and Russian premieres of Autodance ballets Sharon Eyal and Akram Khan's KAASH.

The stage premiere of Baroque Concerto was performed in 1941 by the American Ballet Caravan during a historic tour of South America. Then he entered the repertoire of the Russian Ballet of Monte Carlo, and in 1948 - the repertoire of the New York City Ballet. This ballet still amazes with its architectural rigor, natural beauty and precision of form. Balanchine has always considered himself primarily a musician and "Baroque Concerto" most accurately expresses his creative credo: "to see the music and hear the dance."

"Exquisite, highly intellectual entertainment" - this is how the Swedish press wrote about the premiere of the ballet Autodance *, created by the famous Israeli choreographer Sharon Eyal in collaboration with Guy Behar for the Gothenburg Ballet in 2018. According to the creator, the work is woven from the very essence of the movement in all its purity and clarity. Dancers and dancers appear asexual, the focus shifts to the movement of their legs. In the Autodance space, dance, the technique of its embodiment and music in the "techno" genre are organically merged: this is a whole, visually rich and precisely built spectacle.

* The production was created in cooperation with the Mart Foundation
* The premiere of Autodance is supported by the Embassy of the State of Israel in the Russian Federation

Akram Khan is one of the most famous dancers and choreographers of our time. His reputation is based on the success of experimental yet widely understood productions such as While the Lions Sleep, KAASH, iTMOi, DESH, Vertical Path, Knowledge and Ground Zero. The premiere of Akram Khan's first full-length ballet took place in 2002. The starting points for the creation of this performance were "Hindu deities, black holes, Indian time cycles, tabla, creation and destruction." KAASH presented the choreographer's aspiration to build bridges between the worlds of contemporary dance and Indian classical dance Kathak.
