The opera King Stakh's Wild Hunt was written in the late 1980s by composer Vladimir Soltan in close collaboration with the production team and performers of the main parts of the play. The production caused a sensation among the public and critics, becoming a real sensation in the theatrical life of the country.
Spectators and listeners, as if spellbound, plunged into the world of images of a historical detective story and into the very music of the wild hunt - one of the most powerful and vivid themes of the opera. Soltan's hunting is both reality, and a mirage, and a phantom. Everything is intertwined in the music of hunting - history and modernity, eternal and momentary, human will and weakness, fear and retribution. This is fate, this is a retribution that comes sooner or later.

The history of the “Wild Hunt” is crowded halls, an honorary State Prize, enthusiastic responses from the press and an unforgettable open-air opera show in the Trinity suburb of Minsk in the mid-90s.
“The Wild Hunt of King Stakh” was shown with great success in Moscow on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater of the USSR. As the first performer of the part of Beloretsky, and now the director of the play, Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Skorobogatov, recalls, after the end of the performance on the stage of the Moscow Bolshoi Theater, when the artists were already in a hurry to catch the train to return to Minsk, the whole team was asked to gather on stage. The then director of the Bolshoi Theater of the USSR addressed the artists: “Tomorrow we have a day off at the theater. The stage is free. I ask you to show the play again.” The second, unscheduled performance of the opera was an even more noisy success.
