Yuki Manuela Janke (Violin soloist)

Yuki Manuela Janke was born on September 1986 as the forth child in Munich . Her german father and her japanese mother are both pianists. She got her first violin and piano instruction at the age of three.

Since 1991, she was regular 1 st prizewinner at "Jugend musiziert" (German national competition for youth). She won numerous 1 st prizes and special prizes at international competitions, among other things at the German Federal Competition "Jugend musiziert", at the Int. Andrea - Postacchini Competition for Violin in Fermo/Italy (with the award "vincitrice assoluta"), at the Int. Louis - Spohr Competition for Violin in Weimar/Germany, at the Int. Henri - Marteau Competition for Violin in Lichtenberg/Germany and at the Int. Johannes - Brahms - Competition in Pцrtschach/Austria.

In September 2004, she won the 2 nd prize (the 1 st prize wasn't awarded) and three special prizes, Premio Ruminelli (for the highest classificate), Premio de Barbieri (for the best interpretation of the Paganini Caprice) and Premio Associazione Amici Nuovo Carlo Felice (for the best interpretation of the contemporary piece) at the Int. Niccolo- Paganini Competition in Genova/Italy.

Moreover, she was prizewinner among other things at the Int. Competition for Violin of the "Culture foundation Hohenlohe" in Kloster Schцntal, at the Competition for the "Music Prize for Youth 1999 of the EMCY" in Duo piano/violin in Weimar/Germany together with her sister Ayumi Janke (piano), at the Int. Marguerite Long - Jacques Thibaud - Competition in Paris/France, at the Int. Competition for Violin in Cologne/Germany, at the Int. Leopold-Mozart Competition in Augsburg/Germany and at the Sendai Int. Music Competition in Japan.

As soloist, she regularly plays with orchestra, for example with the Berliner Rundfunk Symphonieorchester (conductor: G. Feltz) Academy of St. Martin in the fields; Staatskapelle Weimar (conductor: G.A. Albrecht), European Festival Orchestra, (conductor: W. Keitel), WDR Rundfunkorchester Koeln (conductor: H. Froschauer and M. Jurowski), Robert - Schumann - Philharmonie Chemnitz (conductor: F. Bollon), Philharmonic Orchestra Wьrzburg (conductor: D. Klajner), Philharmonic Orchestra Theatre Altenburg-Gera (conductor: T. Wicklein), Neubrandenburger Philharmonie (conductor: S. Malzew), Hofer Symphoniker (conductor: B. Rucha), Sendai Philharmonie Orchestra (conductor: T. Umeda), Osaka Century Orchestra (conductor: Y. Toyama), the National Honoured Academical Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine (conductor: M. Dyadyura), Buenos Aires Philharmony Orchestra (conductor: A. Paris), Orchestra di Roma e del Lazio (conductor: L. Jia), Orchestra della Fondazione Teatro Carlo Felice (conductor: J. Kovatchev and D. Yuki Manuela Janke gave a lot of recitals and concerts in important halls of all over the world e.g. Konzerthaus Berlin, Konzerthalle Hamburg, Philharmony Koeln, Theatre du Chatlet (Paris), Zuerich Tonhalle, Theatro Colon (Buenos Aires) and Palacio de bellas Artes (Mexico City). In addition she had concerts in many cities, in Germany for example in Munich, Augsburg, Kiel, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Essen, Regensburg, Pruem, Kyllburg, Wuerzburg, Kaufbeuren, Weimar, Aschaffenburg, Lollar, Leer, Samow, Bad Elster, Sylt; in Rom, Genua (with the violin of Paganini "Cannone"), Alessandria, Varese, Napoli, Carro, Fabriano, Macerata, Bergamo, Padova, Taranto, Fermo (Italy); in Davos, Bern, Zuerich (Switzerland); in Salzburg, Wien, Telfs (Austria); in Praha/Czech Republic; in Bilbao/Spain, in Mexco-City, in Puebla/Mexico, in Buenos Aires/Argentina and in Japan in Tokyo, Osaka and Sendai.

She has been invited for many music festivals e.g. the Music Festival Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Music Festival Schleswig-Holstein, Lago Maggiore, Amici della Musica (Italy), Music Festival "Instrumenta" in Mexico and Bach Festival in Bern (Switzerland).

With her sister and her two brothers she also often plays chamber music (piano trio and quartet) in concerts.

Now she is studying at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg in the class of Prof. Igor Ozim.

She is a student on scholarship by the "Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben" the "Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes" and the "Degussa Stiftung".
