The Bolshoi Theatre continues to acquaint its audiences with the most important achievements in world music theatre. This evening of one-act ballets will become the visiting card of the American school of ballet which in much has influenced the development of 20th century classical dance the world over. The program for the evening is made up of the works of three generations of American choreographers. Balanchine’s Serenade and Tharp’s In the Upper Room have long been classics of the world ballet repertoire. Christopher Wheeldon, the best known choreographer of the younger generation, will create a new ballet for the Bolshoi Theatre Company specially for this Evening.
