Tatiana Smirnova (Soprano)
Biography
Born in Moscow. In 1992, she completed her studies at the vocal faculty of the Moscow Ippolitov-Ivanov Music College. And in 1997, she graduated from the Russian Gnesin Academy of Music. Also in 1997, she joined the Moscow New Opera Company (artistic director Evgeny Kolobov) as soloist.
In April 2004, she made her Bolshoi Theatre debut as Renata in Prokofiev’s The Fiery Angel (conductor Alexander Vedernikov, director Francesca Zambello, designer Georgy Tsypin).
In November 2004, also for the Bolshoi Theatre, she sang the part of Katerina Ismailova in the premiere performances of Shostakovich’s The Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District (conductor Zoltan Peshko, director Temur Chkheidze, designer Georgy Gegeshidze).
